Yury Shetko appointed to the position of prosecutor of Minsk region

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Shved, presenting to colleagues the Prosecutor of the Minsk Region Yury Shetko, thanked Sergey Hmaruk for his service in this position, wished him success at the position of Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus. Speaking about Yury Shetko, the Prosecutor General described him as a competent and responsible leader: “During his service in various positions in the prosecutorial agencies, the Investigative Committee, heading the Vitebsk region Directorate of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Anatolyevich exceled as a person absolutely committed to the state, oath, duty and his cause.”

Andrey Shved handed over a certificate and wished Yury Shetko success, endurance, wisdom, and to act from the position of justice.

Yury Shetko was born in the village of Orekhovo of Vitebsk region.

In 2005 he graduated from the educational institution of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus “International Institute of Labor and Social Relations” majoring in “Jurisprudence”, in 2017 – the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus majoring in “State Administration”.

He served as an intern in the position of an investigator in the prosecutor's office, then – an investigator, a senior investigator of the prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of city of Vitebsk.

Subsequently, and until 2008, he worked as a special investigator of the investigation department of the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region.

In 2008-2010 he was a special investigator of the department of major investigations of the Prosecutor General's Office.

From May 2010 to December 2011 – Head of Investigation Department of the Prosecutor's Office of the Vitebsk Region.

From January 2012 to June 2013 – Deputy Head of the Department of the Investigative Committee for the Vitebsk Region.

From July 2013 to April 2021 – Head of Vitebsk Regional Directorate of State Forensic Examination Committee.

By the order of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus on April 8, 2021, he was appointed to the position of prosecutor of Minsk region.

He was awarded the medals “For Perfect Service” 3^rd and 2^nd class, the order “For service to the Homeland” 3^rd class.
