The practice of prosecutor's supervision in the field of entrepreneurs rights protection – the theme of the meeting of the Joint Board of Prosecutor General Offices of Belarus and Russia

A meeting of the Joint Board of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of Prosecutors General of Belarus and Russia Aleksandr Konyuk and Yuri Chaika. The topic is the practice of prosecutor's supervision in the field of protecting the rights of entrepreneurs. 

The event was also attended by deputy prosecutors general, heads of relevant departments of supervisory agencies, other prosecutors from both countries. 

In a welcoming speech to the participants of the Joint Board, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus noted: “In the conditions of the world economic crisis the particular importance is the search for new growth points. Therefore, the development of a business initiative and entrepreneurship, the creation of a safe and attractive environment for business comes to the fore.” 

Aleksandr Konyuk stressed that the prosecutor’s bodies and the judicial system became the guarantors of the implementation of state policy in this area. 

“In Belarus, prosecutors are focused on ensuring strict compliance with the law by all regulatory agencies and on excluding unjustified inspections of business entities,” he informed Russian colleagues.

The head of the Belarusian supervisory authority assured that the development of common approaches to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs will contribute to the further integration of our countries into a single economic space, well-being and stability in society.” 

The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lashin, in his speech spoke about the deficiencies and omissions of tax, customs and other government bodies identified during the prosecutor's checks. He cited examples of violations of investment legislation. He reported on the elaboration of amendments to the criminal law of the country, other initiatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus. 

Following the meeting, the participants of the Joint Board of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation approved a package to protect the legitimate rights and interests of entrepreneurs, set deadlines for their implementation. 

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Konyuk, thanked the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Yury Chaika, for his warm welcome, sincere atmosphere, and constructive cooperation in the criminal law field.
