Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Konyuk today, on the 29-th of |March, 2018, has conducted the working meeting with Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova Eduard Charunzhen in Minsk.
From Belarusian side the Deputy Prosecutor General Alexey Stuk, the counselor of the Prosecutor General Alexander Dranitsa, heads of a number of structural departments have also participated in the event.
The Moldavian delegation, headed by the Prosecutor General Eduard Charunzhen, consisted of the chief of the International Cooperation and European Integration Department Alexander Kladko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova in the Republic of Belarus Victor Sorochan.
During the meeting the prosecutors have discussed the issues of international legal cooperation in criminal matters, have shared experiences in anti-crime and anti-corruption activities, prosecutorial oversight in the economic sphere.
Besides, Belarusian and Moldavian Parties have accorded the project of the Agreement on cooperation, which will clearly regulate the cooperation at the stage before opening a preliminary investigation, when considering appeals of citizens, as well as informational exchange of important data during the criminal prosecution.
«The visit of Moldavian colleagues will contribute to strengthening professional connections between the prosecutors of both countries, give a new impetus to the fight against crime and corruption. This will help us better understand each other while protecting rights and legal interests of our citizens» ‑ Alexander Konyuk remarked.
In his speech Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova thanked Belarusian colleagues for warm hospitality. Pledged readiness to provide cooperation between the prosecution offices of both countries to the maximum extent, invited the Prosecutor General of Belarus to visit Chisinau.
