Agreement on Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan signed in Dushanbe

The delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Konyuk is on a working visit to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan (Dushanbe).

During the meeting held on 18 July, 2017, the issues of judicial cooperation between the prosecution services of the both countries and of fight against transnational crime were discussed; the Agreement on Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan (hereinafter – the Agreement) was signed.

The Agreement foresees interaction, within their respective competencies, between the prosecution bodies of Belarus and Tajikistan in ensuring the rights and freedoms of the citizens, fight against crime, including such organisational forms of it as terrorism, corruption, illicit trafficking in arms, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, illegal migration, human trafficking, and in the sphere of exchange of working experience and regulatory acts.

The signing of the Agreement shall promote further reinforcement of cooperation between the prosecution bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan as well as information exchange for the purposes of prevention, detection and solving of crimes.

Apart from the above, meetings between the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Konyuk, the Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan are planned to take place.
