A meeting between the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Konyuk and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika took place

On 31 January, 2018, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Konyuk and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika held a working meeting devoted to realization of the decision of the Joint Collegium of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation of 30 July, 2015 “On organization of cooperation in the sphere of suppression of law violations connected to non-payment of export delivery of goods (works, services) and evasion of execution of judicial decisions on debt recovery”.

The event was also attended by heads of departments of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus Anatoliy Dudkin, Andrei Maltsev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prosecutor General of Russian Federation Saak Karapetyan, other representatives of the Russian delegation.

Prosecution bodies of the Russian Federation, including on requests of Belarusian colleagues, revoked unlawful decisions of bodies of inquiry on refusal to initiate criminal proceedings, issued supervisory acts on facts of violations committed in course of inquiry checks and investigation of criminal cases, referred a number of criminal cases to courts, which resulted in convictions, exercised supervision over enforcement of more than 500 decisions on debt recovery for benefit of Belarusian enterprises.

“The measures taken improved essentially the state of settlement, although the problem of overdue debts is not yet solved”, – stated Aleksandr Konyuk.

Actions directed at further cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Belarus and Russia in this sphere, were defined.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika expressed confidence that relations between the Prosecution Services of the two states stay cooperative, based on mutual understanding and constructive approach to solving common problems.

Head of the Belarusian supervisory body Aleksandr Konyuk, having thanked the Russian colleagues for the impressive volume of assistance rendered and their major contribution to strengthening of Belarusian-Russian relations, presented awards of honour to certain employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
